Mrs. Pita
In the beginning of March 2020 when Corona virus also known as COVID19 first introduced to us, without limit it attached people all over the world. BIC Denver member; Mrs Pita, Mr Iwan and their fist born son infected by this virus. Let us hear their story on how they conquered the virus and they came out victorious.
On Wednesday, March 18, 2020, as I drove home from working on the health care field, my throat started to feel dry and itchy. That very night I felt feverish and body ache. The next day my body felt weak, headache, fever, nausea, and diarrhea. My tongue felt bitter, I had no appetite for food what so ever. Never crossed my mind that I might be having the symptom of COVID19, to me it was just a severe cold. My husband cared for me that time.
Since I didn't get any better, I went to see a doctor. He said I had a throat infection. After getting a little rest, the next day my fever went away and I started to feel better. However, that night my husband felt feverish and body ache. The following day he experienced the same symptom as me. So I took him to the doctor right away, at the same time I felt like my condition were dropping.
As a mother of 2 children; Jovan(15yo boy) and Kallen (10yo girl) I managed to take care of them even though my condition still up and down. Praise God, I have great support system from church. They helped me through this difficult time. More than just praying for us but also dropping off food in front of the house.
On Sunday morning, my son refused to eat, he just said, ”I don't feel good." He didn't want to burden us, so he didn't tell us that he experienced the same symptom as me and my husband. By night time his condition dropped and I checked his body temperature it was 38.9°C.
Since we still haven't gotten and better we decided to go back to the doctor. The hospital were packed with sick people. Since we had symptom, we must take the COVID19 test, and wait 5 days for the result.
Our condition kept on getting worse. We cough all night long, so we couldn't rest through out the night. We felt miserable. Since his condition didn't get better, due to previous medical problem, my husband was admitted to the hospital for 4 days, (before our test result came out). Yes, we tested positive for COVID19.
Since the rest of us were not as sick as my husband, we decided to stay home and isolated ourselves until we completely got over this sickness. (we didn't have a breathing problem). We were taking the medication from doctor and vitamin daily. I had to force my self to eat to survive, even if it was only 1-2 bites. I drank juice and milk to get me energy.
During that critical time I was feeling like I was in the brink of death. I couldn't eat well, I couldn't sleep, and breathing was not easy. The devil was trying to attack me, my spirit was weak. I was having a hard time reading bible and listening to gospel song. I heard about the number of people dying from the virus kept on increasing. I thought to myself, I might be in a line awaiting for my turn to die. I felt like this was my lowest point of my life.
I am thankful and appreciate those people who continuously prayed for me; my family, my friends, my spiritual leader. Those prayer gave me strength to go on even though I felt so down, I have been attacked physically and spiritually. Those prayer gave me a glimpse of hope, reminded me about my kids that I still have to take care of. God gave me strength to fight through and came out victorious.
Amazingly, God's protection was over my youngest. I remembered she slept in the same room with me for at least 3 night, but God keep her healthy.
After all that we have been through, we are still here today, all because of God's mercy and grace. I strongly believe through the valley of the shadow, when we are on our lowest point, Jesus is there to help.
I know for sure those prayer got me through this storm. The scripture in James says "The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. " I am a living testify of this scripture.
After 3 weeks of isolation, we all were completely heal. We're truly grateful to experience God's miracle over our health. We are now alive and well, glory to GOD !!!
